Llampart Frosts Over Your Desktop With a Private Local Chat UI

Frosted glass chat bubble composed of layered glass with subtle UI elements.

Llampart is a local-first chat web interface designed to pair with the llama-server backend. The release brings a polished desktop experience with a custom Frosted Glass visual theme. It lets users manage conversations, choose models, and work with tool workflows while keeping all data local.

Developer Marcin Gluziński created the project by customizing the llama-ui code from llama.cpp. He focused on everyday desktop comfort and a clean, self-contained interface for private AI use. Version 1.0.1 marks the first public open-source release under the MIT license.

Frosted Glass design and conversation management

Key features
  • Frosted Glass theme with translucent blurred styling.
  • Wallpaper customization and milkiness readability slider.
  • Conversation sidebar with two-column tiled layout.
  • Date/time display, pinning, selective deletion tools.
  • Interface translations for six European languages.
  • Minimal mode for reasoning and tool output.
  • Local import/export that avoids sensitive settings.
  • MCP server, prompt, and tool workflows built in.

Local AI users running llama-server on their own hardware will find a ready-to-use chat interface. Privacy-conscious professionals and hobbyists can keep all conversations and settings offline. Small agencies and international users benefit from the import/export safeguards and multi-language support.

Built on llama.cpp's UI foundation

Marcin Gluziński emphasizes that Llampart is not an official llama.cpp project but builds on its llama-ui foundation. The frontend relies on Svelte/SvelteKit and includes an optional Caddy deployment guide for local network access. As an early release, the developer welcomes bug reports and suggestions on GitHub.
