ComfyUI-Workflow-Image-Export Snags Node 2.0 Screenshots

Digital workflow graph block consists of interconnected nodes and flowing data lines.

ComfyUI-Workflow-Image-Export now includes experimental support for the newer ComfyUI Node 2.0 frontend. This extension saves a clean screenshot of your entire workflow and can embed the workflow JSON directly into PNG files. It works with both the classic LiteGraph interface and the updated Node 2.0, though the capture technique for the newer version uses Chromium’s screen capture APIs.

Developer Nomadoor who also created ComfyUI-Panorama-Stickers pushed the update after realizing that Node 2.0 could not be captured the same way as the legacy UI. He leveraged browser compositor capture to grab the graph view, making the tool usable for those switching to the modern interface. The extension is available through ComfyUI Manager, making installation straightforward.

Experimental node 2.0 capture added

Key Features
  • Export workflow images as PNG or WebP.
  • Embed workflow JSON metadata in PNG files.
  • Customizable background, padding, and opacity.
  • Selection-based cropping with dimming controls.
  • Node 2.0 compositor capture for Chromium browsers.
  • Right-click canvas to open export dialog.

Anyone using ComfyUI who wants to share or document their workflows will find this tool helpful. Users on the Node 2.0 frontend can now capture their setups, even if some options are limited. It also provides an easy way to archive or distribute workflow images with embedded data.

Limitations and developer notes

The Node 2.0 export relies on Chromium’s browser compositor, so it only functions in Chrome, Edge, and similar browsers. Transparent backgrounds are not supported in Node 2.0 mode, and some legacy controls like padding and node opacity are disabled. The developer describes the method as a little forceful and is open to better ideas for capturing Node 2.0 workflows.
